Air Asia X flight at 12:30AM was full-board. lucky we get all the 3 seats to ourselves. slept all the way to Perth. arrived around 5:30AM. weather was so windy and freezing altho it is now spring time. angah picked us up around 6:30AM and off we went to Fast Eddy’s for breakfast.
1st stop: Hillarys Boat Harbour. where all the riches and famous park their boats here. 20mins drive from the city. The Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA) and Sorrento Quay are situated here. we didn’t get the chance to go inside AQWA as the operation hour started at 10AM but we were there as early as 9AM. so we only had a stroll along the marina and take a few good snap of pictures.
2nd stop: Harbour Town, which is more like a factory outlet where you can get good bargain on clothing/shoes etc. for an avid shoppers, this place is a heaven. but to me, it is just another place to hang out and chill :) we drove and park our rental car here before proceed to next stop.
3rd stop: Perth City & London Court, which can easily be reached by the Yellow/Red/Blue CAT service (free bus service around the city). London Court is designed using the architectural features present in Elizabethan times, consists of small retail outlets between Hay Street Mall and St Georges Terrace. we had our lunch here in the heart of Perth city at a Japanese restaurant called Shimizu. delicious food with halal meats.
4th stop: Swan Bell Tower & The Wheel of Perth. The Swan Bell Tower is situated on the foreshore at Barrack Square and overlooking the famous and picturesque Swan River. there are six floors in the Swan Bell Tower, the top is being the observation deck which overlooks the Swan River and the city on the other end of the Bell Tower. next to the tower is the Wheel of Perth. the Wheel of Perth is a 50 metre high modern day ferris wheel with 36 Gondolas or Cabins all of which are fully airconditioned. which to me looks exactly like our version of eye on malaysia.
then, we checked into our apartment, The Mountway Apartment which is located on the Mount Street. the apartment can fit up to 5 persons. it is a studio apartment with 1 double bed, 1 single bed, and 1 bunk bed. i would very much recommended this apartment to everyone. the apartment is fully self-contained, with kitchen including all the utensils and a nice and cosy private bathroom. King’s Park and Perth City is just 5mins away walking from this apartment. at night, we had our dinner at an Indonesian restaurant called Bintang Cafe, situated at Victoria Park.
end of day 1.
