BBQ Buffet Dinner Royalé Style

There is no special occasion for this family dines out. We chose The Royale Bintang, Damansara as the venue as mom has a complimentary voucher for 2pax. We had a very high expectation on this event.

We arrived at The Royale around 9PM. We were ushered to The Terrace by the manager on duty. The setup of the outdoor venue is very nice. We took some pictures before we settled for the food.

The appetizer: Pumpkin soup and western & traditional salads.
The BBQ menu: Raw chicken fillet, lamb, beef fillet, otak-otak, oyster, vegetables & sausage
The side menu: Spaghetti with tomato sauce, Herbal rice, corn.
The dessert: Assorted cakes & fruit cocktail.

My review?

The food selection: I think they could have done better with providing more selection of foods to the guests.
The BBQ service: Poor that lonely cook. He has to cater to everyone’s demand. I just think the hotel should provide pre-cook meats rather than raw meats to cut down on guests’ waiting time. We have to wait for our satay more than one hour. That is after a few attempt to acknowledge the manager on their poor service.
The waiter service: Very poor. At one time, you could see no waiter on the floor. A guest has to serve his own drink himself. The replenishment of foods is also very poor. The desserts were left un-refill for more than one hour.
Overall service: I would say very poor. There are a few managers on duty that night. But you can hardly find one on the floor attending to guests.

The service is very poor we had to send our own chef to help on the grill :) See the picture above to believe it haha...

My tak-puas-hati face while waiting for our satay.

If you ask me, I would say this would be the last time we dine-in at The terrace.
