BBQ Buffet Dinner Royalé Style

There is no special occasion for this family dines out. We chose The Royale Bintang, Damansara as the venue as mom has a complimentary voucher for 2pax. We had a very high expectation on this event.

We arrived at The Royale around 9PM. We were ushered to The Terrace by the manager on duty. The setup of the outdoor venue is very nice. We took some pictures before we settled for the food.

The appetizer: Pumpkin soup and western & traditional salads.
The BBQ menu: Raw chicken fillet, lamb, beef fillet, otak-otak, oyster, vegetables & sausage
The side menu: Spaghetti with tomato sauce, Herbal rice, corn.
The dessert: Assorted cakes & fruit cocktail.

My review?

The food selection: I think they could have done better with providing more selection of foods to the guests.
The BBQ service: Poor that lonely cook. He has to cater to everyone’s demand. I just think the hotel should provide pre-cook meats rather than raw meats to cut down on guests’ waiting time. We have to wait for our satay more than one hour. That is after a few attempt to acknowledge the manager on their poor service.
The waiter service: Very poor. At one time, you could see no waiter on the floor. A guest has to serve his own drink himself. The replenishment of foods is also very poor. The desserts were left un-refill for more than one hour.
Overall service: I would say very poor. There are a few managers on duty that night. But you can hardly find one on the floor attending to guests.

The service is very poor we had to send our own chef to help on the grill :) See the picture above to believe it haha...

My tak-puas-hati face while waiting for our satay.

If you ask me, I would say this would be the last time we dine-in at The terrace.

Hotel fact: The Royale Bintang Damansara

Standing elegantly in Mutiara Damansara, The Royale Bintang Damansara offers its guests a truly luxury and exceptional service in this outstanding hotel. Kuala Lumpur city centre is only 20 minutes via the Sprint Highway or Damansara Puchong Highway. Soft lighting, contemporary wood furnishing and gentle décor provide ambient relaxation in the hotel’s 145 luxurious guestrooms and suites including Executive Suites, Family Suites, Club Studio, Deluxe and Superior rooms. Flava' Roast Family Series

KFC Flava' Roast Family Series

Yesterday, we had our dinner at KFC while waiting for a friend of mine. We couldn't remember when was the last time we step foot at KFC. There seems to be a new addition to the menu: The Flava' Roast Series. So Hubby and I were very keen on trying these new flava'. He had the Flava' Roast Wings and I had the Flava' Roast Burger.

The Flava' Roast Wings comes with 4 pieces of lip-smacking wings serves with cheese potato wedges, regular tangy coleslaw and regular carbonated drink. The meal looks very small even Hubby had a doubt he will be full after eating it. But he did let me know that the wings tastes yummylicious.

The Flava' Roast Burger comes with tender roasted chicken fillet burger topped with pepper mayonnaise (yummy!) serves with fun (french?) fries and carbonated drink. Since I'm on diet, I exchange my carbonated drink to ice lemon tea. And I also exchange my fries to Hubby's coleslaw hehe.

The taste? Super yummylicious. The chicken tastes almost the same as any other bbq roasted chicken at food mall that is served with chicken rice hehe. All I can say is, you gotta have it. like NOW! while stocks last hehe...

p/s: I wonder how am I supposed to pronounce Flava' with the apostrophe? Flavak? or simply Flava?

To dearest Hubby, happy 16th months anniversary!! I love u!!
Damn, I almost forgot today is our anniversary. TQ daisypath for the reminder

Cuti-cuti Malaysia

So, I was stricken with high fever since Wednesday. My temperature was 39.9C. Doc put me on MC for 2 days. So I got a very long weekend hehe. But Thursday and Friday were spent on the bed. Couldn't do nothing else except to just sleep.

On Friday evening, mom called to let us know the gang is going down to PD as mom will be having a meeting there. Mom offered us to join since she booked extra room for the night. When I first heard about the venue, I got a little bit excited I felt like a normal person again haha. Who can say no to
The Legend Water Chalet?

The Legend Water Chalets is located along the coastal stretch of Port Dickson in
Negeri Sembilan on the west coast of Malaysia. The Resort consists of 280 unique
sea front resort rooms and 112 service suites facing the Straits of Malacca.

I have been dreaming of going to this place since last year. So like a dream come true. We spent 1 night there. Although it was a short stay, we really enjoyed the ambience and tranquility of the area. I didn’t get to try the swimming pool. Next time, perhaps. Hubby, lil bro and I stayed at the
Executive Water Chalet while mom and dad stayed at the Premium Water Chalet. Our room has separate standing shower and bath tub with little privacy hehe. The rooftop of the standing shower can be opened so you can choose to take ur bath under the lighting of the sun. The bathroom area also came with solid glass panel for viewing the sea beneath the floor. The only draw back was the choices of buffet breakfast. I was looking forward to a grand selection of menus just like any other 4 or 5 stars hotels would offer. But alas, the breakfast is almost the same as 3 stars hotels could offer.

picture from PMI3
Hubby: Pesta Malam Indonesia nanti ada blablabla (while reading to me the list of performers)
Me: Dekat mane?
Hubby: Bukit Jalil
Me: Huh easily accessible by all the pekerja kontrak. Sure pening kepala nanti

Sian Hubby. I know that this is his thing. I would love to join him but I'm actually a claustrophobic. Kalo i pegi pon, it won't be an enjoyable day/night for me. Tapi dearest Hubby, if you have a gang to go with, I'm willing to 'let you go' for the day hehe.

p/s: oh tersangat panas lately sampai daku berasa pening kepala bila di bawah jemuran sang mentari. kesan pemanasan global kah?
p/s: i'm in need of a new swimsuit. should i go for a killer one? or just an OK one?

Taburan Dahlia di Hari Jadimu

Bead work for my SIL. She didn't specify what kind of design she wanted. She only wanted the sleeves of the baju kurung to be a little bit heavy so it won't 'terjongket ke atas'. So I did this design. Scattered design may look simple but it is the most tedious work. I do hope she will like it.

Under the sea, shall we?

We’ve been talking about getting ourselves a new camera. My choice would be any SLR type of camera because I adore people with SLR (like Kay haha). But he prefers point & shoot type of camera. His reason is simple. SLR is too big and heavy so it would be difficult for us who love light traveling. Besides, the sharp pictures can come from SLR or point & shoot camera provided we have the skill to capture and edit the picture. Yeah so I do have to agree to his view. After all he’s the Mr. Gadget of the family. But we did agree on one thing. The camera should be shock & waterproof. We have 2 options to choose from: (1) Olympus μ Tough 8000 and (2) Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT1. We opt for the second choice because Lumix beats μ Tough at the design (and maybe a few specs but who am I to talk about specs haha).

Last Saturday, before Zatil’s wedding, we stopped by at Alamanda hoping to score ourselves the Lumix. Unfortunately, Lumix is still unavailable at that area. They only have μ Tough to offer us. So we decided to rush down to KL after the wedding. Soon we found ourselves wondering around Sg Wang/ Low Yat scouting around for the camera. At last, we found a shop that has the Lumix on display. Ahh it’s like falling in love for the first time. So we wasted no more time and bought the silver Lumix. Hubby worked his charm to get the gorilla-pod for FOC instead of the normal tripod (He’s been eyeing for the gorilla-pod since forever).

Oh can’t wait to put the camera on heavy test, under the sea :)
